In addition to Moon Knight, discover other Marvel characters who have to deal with mental problems, and the struggle they have to stay stable
With the premiere of the Moon Knight series, not only the interest in Egyptian culture comes to light, but also the mental problems that affect some Marvel characters who have fought battles to stay psychologically stable.
Marc Spector, Wanda Maximof, Ororo Monroe, are just some of the names that have grabbed our attention just for their epic feats. Also for sustaining battles against mental ills that can lead them to make decisions that they may regret all their lives.
Without further ado, check out characters dealing with mental issues throughout the Marvel Universe.
Moon Knight – Dissociative Identity Disorder
Marc Spector’s fight in the Marvel Universe is not only against villains with a desire to expand, it is also against himself thanks to a multiple personality disorder, which makes him detach himself from reality.
That is why Moon Knight not only fights an eternal fight against the forces of evil, he also fights an important battle to stay sane and not carry out actions that could cause him a guilty conscience.
Daredevil – Depression
Stories like Born Again and Guardian Devil have introduced us to the limits that Daredevil can reach, whose mind is taken to the extreme, which has led to strong depressive pictures.
It is not surprising that Matt Murdock has prolonged episodes of depression, one of the psychological ills that must be treated in different ways to avoid deadly consequences.
Storm – Claustrophobia
Ororo Monroe is one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe, but the trauma of being trapped under tons of rubble at a young age led her to develop an extreme fear of confined spaces.
Facing episodes where Storm can be locked up or trapped lead her to experience catatonic episodes, something she has not been able to overcome, regardless of the fact that she is one of Charles Xavier’s best students.
Hank Pym – Bipolarity
Founding member of the Avengers, and bearer of two of the most important mantles in Marvel history, such as Ant-Man and Yellowjacket, Hank Pym has a problem controlling his temper.
Hank Pym’s bipolar disorder has led the scientist to physically abuse his wife Janet, whom he hit repeatedly, in unfortunate periods derived from his temperamental volatility.
Wanda Maximoff – Psycho
Two of the greatest tragedies seen in Marvel history were caused by Wanda Maximoff, who went untreated after suffering severe emotional trauma, such as the loss of her children at the hands of Mephisto.
As a result of this, Wanda suffered psychotic outbreaks that led to the death of companions and allies in Avengers: Disunited and the mutant extinction in House of M. Even in WandaVision there is talk of Wanda’s mishandled duel that led to the kidnapping of Westview.
