Doubts about the future of the legendary event on the streets of Monte Carlo have been cleared up with a new three-year agreement between the ACM and the FIA, announced minutes after the 2023 calendar.
The most veteran fans of Formula 1 can breathe easy because the continuity of one of the most mythical races has been confirmed, possibly the essential one.
The Monaco Grand Prix will continue as part of the calendar until 2025, at least. This has been confirmed by all the parties in a statement that represents the culmination of very tough negotiations, in the words of those responsible.
“I am pleased to confirm that we will be competing in Monaco until 2025 and I am excited to return to the streets of this famous Principality for next year’s Championship on May 28. I want to thank everyone involved in this renewal and especially SAS for Prince Albert II of Monaco, Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco and all his team. We look forward to returning next season to continue our partnership together.” Stefano Domenicali after confirmation of the agreement.
The words of the F1 president do not hint at the harsh tensions that have been experienced. The growing expansion of the championship has placed in a difficult position races in european territory which, due to their circumstances, are less attractive to the younger public for some time now. Monaco, despite being everything glamour, luxury and meaning to be synonymous with motorsportsdoes not usually leave big battles or races with overtaking and this will be the case no matter how much the regulations change.

This, together with the thriving commitment of non-European markets, such as Las Vegas or Qatar, has caused events such as the French GP. Now Monaco has saved continuity for three more years, which remains to be seen if they are the last.
Michael Boeri, president of the ACM, doesn’t think so. “In the interest of the Formula 1 world championship, and after several months of negotiations, we are proud to announce that we have signed a three-year deal with Formula 1, and it is likely to be renewed», props up.
