He does not speak yet, but he has many resources to make himself understood. The smiles, the pouts, their little hands… His whole body speaks for your baby.
Mom really understands me. Just raise your arms for her to carry me. I rub my eyes and take me to the crib. I smile at him and he smiles at me. I turn my hands and sing “A la rorro nene”… Babies know how to speak without words. With just a few months, long before controlling the language, they make themselves understood perfectly. You just have to be vigilant to understand their needs, because one thing is clear: their gestures say it all.
The baby starts talking to us from the first minute of life
Crying, of course, is his best communicative weapon. But there is more, many more: the shrunken little body when something hurts, the mouth that opens when it is sleepy … The little ones know how to express to mom and dad what they need at all times. And as they grow, this capacity increases: new and increasingly complex movements give away their state of mind.
Carolina, seven and a half months old, opens her eyes wide and puts her mouth in the shape of an “o” when she sees Dad appear behind the door. “What a scare you gave me,” he seems to be saying. Then he laughs and moves his hands to one side and the other. “Do you want me to sing to the little boy, my love?” He answers. After a little bit of laughter, the girl raises her hands and Dad takes her in little arms: “Yes, I know you want kisses and caresses”, she comments again.
What has happened here? That they just had a conversation, it was a perfect dialogue in which Carolina has learned one thing: her father understands her. And another dad: my girl loves me!
