Buildings on white sand would be amazing!
Few video games have left such a legacy as Minecraft. Since its launch in 2011, the open world game has evolved remarkably. Mojang was in charge of expanding the maps after it was bought by Microsoft in 2014. And, although online survival game modes are very popular, the category that catapulted the sandbox as one of the most successful was the creative mode, since players have shown on their social networks (especially in YouTube gameplays) that they can achieve with time and skill. However, part of the charm of your player builds are the environments, also known as biomes. In this way, Mojang has done a great job in each update, since the content that we can see now is more varied. We have goats, cats, turtles, foxes, among others, and currently frogs have been added to the mobs; in addition to the fact that there are more and more species of trees, such as mangroves.
Here it is worth noting one of the main sites of interest for fans and is the underground biome, called “deep darkness”, where players can find valuable items, or the classic minerals that allow them to build diamond armor, with the novelty that there are proximity redstone emitters. On the other hand, the experience becomes more fun considering that they will face the most terrifying monsters, among them the Warden, a hostile creature that (summoned by sculk screamers) could only be found here.
It is interesting everything that has happened after the franchise updated its caves, cliffs and basically any mountainous terrain that had already appeared less detailed in any biome. Apparently, the company has decided to give its landscapes a more realistic touch despite the fact that they are made up of blocks. Even with “The Wild” we can see a change with respect to what has been shown in the biomes, since there would be more details about the undergrounds that players are so excited about.
Having said that, there is a biome that still needs a series of modifications to keep up with other places and that is the beaches. Although the content of the ocean with the coral blocks and coral fans had already been updated, among some species and monsters, the beaches have not had any significant change. But this is something that Mojang had already considered in the past.
Aquatic, an update in which Minecraft did not pay main attention to the closest thing to the ocean: the beaches
The topic of beach biomes was nothing new, as the company had been making certain updates to them for years. But in 2018 Mojang decided to put a new image to the oceans in the Aquatic update. In this way, the player experience would change in its entirety, dimensions would be added to the massive oceans, there would be climatic differences that would make the waters warm, frozen or temperate depending on the biome that connects them. Thus, corals and algae would appear inside the sea, and even one or another structure created by humans, such as shipwrecks that hid very valuable treasures.
In relation to the inclusion of species, as we mentioned before, the corals were not the only ones, but mobs such as turtles or dolphins and even some underwater zombies (called “Drowned”) and, of course, some adorable axolotls would also be part of the list of changes.
As expected, not all new features in the Aquatic update had to do with marine biomes. Weapon functionality had been modified based on the type of wood the player used. For example, the task of axes had been extended to removing bark from trees. Even the ghosts appeared, something that would have been worth a lore about these in later updates (both The Wild and the Allay).
But the most notable change, it seems, was a rather curious swimming technique that Mojang introduced in this update. Through his control scheme, the player manages to dive and have greater speed under water. Something that mimics conventional swimming quite well. It is important to say that all the transformations of the oceans did result in a great change for themselves and for the villages themselves, however, the issue of aesthetics on the beaches has not been treated by Mojang with the attention that it should.
Minecraft beaches could be based on real beaches
So far, we’ve seen that basically every biome in the sandbox has changed noticeably. And among them, the oceans were one of the last ones that allowed more adventures to the players under its depths. However, there is still not much to say about the beaches, since we can only appreciate the classic standard sandy beaches, with shores full of stones, some that cross mountainous terrain and, finally, the cold beaches (covered with snow in the extreme climate biomes). In some you can find the hidden treasures that are specified in maps, but between these and the turtles to make potions there are not many more attractions that await there.
Since Mojang has been responsible for making some replicas that give a realistic touch to their biomes, it would be fair to say that there are thousands of beaches around the world that could inspire developers, in addition to allowing players to have one more space to live an adventure outside the classic terrain that we have already seen in the sandbox. For example, snowboarding in the coldest, or sandcastles on warm beaches.
This last possibility would give a new image to these biomes, not only because of the activity, but because once we see the ostentatious and complex constructions on land that the fans have shared, we would think that beaches could now become desert temples, especially when it comes to mimicking the wonders of nature. Who could imagine crabs on an entire black sand beach in the purest Hawaiian style, or stone arches in the sea! It would be fantastic to have a replica of Caribbean beaches with transparent waters, watch the sunset next to palm trees and tiny turtles.
After The Wild update that has given priority to swamps and birch forests, beaches could be Mojang’s next task. In fact, this is what is expected for the next announcement of the franchise, since it is one of the most anticipated updates by the players.
