Microsoft Edge version 100 is now available at the dev channel. Edge is already a hundred years old and comes with minor improvements over last week’s version. We remind you that Microsoft has not really worked on 100 versions, it is based on Chromium and they work from that base. Let’s see what’s new in Microsoft Edge Dev in its first version 100.

- Fixed an issue where clicking on a misspelled word would sometimes not bring up the spell checker suggestion card to correct it.
- Fixed and fixed an issue where the option to open system preferences for subtitles was not working.
- Fixed an issue with WebView2 applications where the attribute IsMuted cannot be set if the media is not playing (Issue 2120).
Known bugs in this build
- Users of certain ad blocking extensions may experience playback errors on Youtube. As a workaround, temporarily disabling the extension should allow playback to continue.
- Some users still have an issue where all tabs and extensions crash immediately with STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_HASH error. The most common cause of this error is outdated antivirus or security software from vendors like Symantec, and in those cases, updating that software will fix it.
- Kaspersky Internet Suite users who have the associated extension installed may sometimes see web pages such as Gmail not loading. This error is due to the fact that the main Kaspersky software is out of date, so it is solved by making sure that the latest version is installed.
- Some users are seeing “wobbling” behavior when scrolling using trackpad gestures or touch screens. Here scrolling in one dimension also causes the page to subtly scroll back and forth in the other. Please note that this only affects certain websites and appears to be worse on certain devices. This is probably related to ongoing work to bring scrolling back to parity with Edge Legacy behavior. So if this behavior is not desirable, we can temporarily disable it. Disabling the edge://flags/#edge-experimental-scrolling flag.
