The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) advanced 0.8% compared to the period January-March 2023, spinning seven consecutive quarters of expansion, according to seasonally adjusted figures released Tuesday by the Inegi
Even so, at the end of July, the institution had forecast that the second largest economy in Latin America would have expanded by 0.9% in the quarter.
Both primary activities -which include agriculture, fishing and mining- and tertiary activities -which include services- increased by 0.7%, below the 0.8% and 1% initially forecast.
In contrast, secondary activities -which include manufacturing- were revised up to 1.2% from the 0.8% previously estimated.
At an annual rate, the GDP grew 3.6%, linking nine consecutive quarters of expansion, although the data was also slightly lower than the 3.7% previously estimated.
