The rumors around the Trilogy version are fading.
Despite the fact that in previous anniversaries nothing of Metroid has been seen, the truth is that Samus Aran’s 35th anniversary couldn’t have been better, since not only have we had a new installment of the classic saga after almost 20 years since the last one in the form of Metroid Dread, but also, this title got a GOTY nomination and even won the best adventure game*.
However, after three months have passed since its launch, Metroid fans already have their sights set on what, presumably, will be the next great installment of the bounty hunter, this title being Metroid Prime 4, characterized by a reboot that has delayed its release years, as confirmed by Nintendo itself in early 2019.
Despite all this, it should be noted that Metroid fans may need to keep an eye out for another project, since before the fourth installment of this sub-saga arrives, we may get another title, which, in this case, has been heavily rumored for months: the remaster or remake of Metroid Prime.
A remaster or remake that would celebrate 20 years since the original release on Game Cube
It should be noted that since Metroid Prime 4 was announced, there are many who ask Nintendo to release the original trilogy in the form of a compilation, this being something that was already done in its day on Wii. Thus, There have been several insiders who have stated that this project is ready to be launched as soon as Nintendo gives the go-ahead. However, for months the arguments changed, stating now that this re-release only includes Metroid Prime, that is, to the first delivery.
In that sense, it has been the insider NateTheHate who in his new program has revealed that Metroid Prime remaster will be released in the second half of 2022 to celebrate the original release, leaving the second and third installments off the list.
It should also be noted that, although Nate did not say so, Rumors suggest that this game would have been developed by Retro Studios, who are in charge of the current development of Metroid Prime 4. It will be necessary to see if it ends up being fulfilled, although, for now, it is better to take this rumor with a grain of salt.
