Nidoran’s body with Butterfree’s face looks pretty funny.
Pokemon is one of the biggest franchises in the world. We could hardly fail to recognize Ash’s pet Pikachu wherever we see it. Many people may not have yet played any of their games, read the manga or seen the anime adaptation, however, they remember more than a few details when they hear “pokemon” and immediately associate it with different characters, scenes and even articles from the franchise.
Since 1996, Pokémon has been a benchmark for the animated industry around the world. After the last generation, the ninth that has presented the scarlet and purple pokémon, it has not ceased to surprise us with some interesting characters. In this way, many of his fans have not only been aware of possible content that continues to come out, but have also enriched it with their own contributions.
Pokémon fan arts are the result of a close community
Naturally, after a couple of decades of Ash Ketchum adventures, some of the fans and gamers started making their own artwork related to the franchise. To be precise, the last 25 years have been spent recreating hundreds of official Pokémon skins. And the best way for them to do that is to fuse or combine some of the different characters to give them an original look and in turn give them a range of powers that haven’t been seen in both the series and video games. This is the case of a player who has used this trend to make his own creation: a combination between Butterfree and Nidoran.
In case you do not recognize them among all the Pokémon that currently exist, a small clarification should be made. Butterfree is a Bug/Flying type that was introduced in Generation 1.. It is the respective evolution of Metapod and the counterpart of Beedrill. One of his abilities that distinguishes him from him is that by flapping his wings, he releases a powder that remains in the air and weakens the enemy. The effects of this dust could be sleeping pills or poisons. His dark purple body, white wings, and red eyes have made him quite an eye-catching character, despite appearing harmless. On the other hand we have Nidoran, a poison-type pokémon, also introduced in the first generation. This character is characterized by his purple anatomy and green ears. He is covered in poison to inject into his prey and evolves into Nidorino and ultimately Nidoking.
Thanks to the nature of the characters, as we mentioned, Pokémon fusions are one of the ways that fans can reimagine their favorite Pokémon and even give them their own physical characteristics. Although some have been somewhat unpleasant, others end up making their respective fame, due to their new figure. Of course, SUPERSADKIDDO, through his Reddit account he has given a new and interesting look to Nidoran and Butterfree. In fact, there is also a specific website to show the results of such combinations, however, the fan design looks a bit different from the creation that can be seen on the page. Just so you know what we mean, the fusion takes Nidoran’s body, without her signature horn, and adds some layers to her face to give it volume, as well as adding Butterfree’s skin.
Therefore, SUPERSADKIDDO takes several elements of the previous creation and creates its own version. In it, the pokémon no longer has Nidoran’s ears, instead, it has Butterfree’s wings and antenna. And, to give this new model a more specific touch, it has rough skin, just like Nidoran’s, instead of Butterfree’s smooth.
As you can see, the design does not lose the essence of the two Pokémon belonging to the first generation. The figure might seem a bit outrageous at first glance, but if we stop to think about it a bit, this Poison/Flying could have very curious powers. It might not be as useful to players in battles with other characters, as it is weak against Ice-, Psychic-Electric, and Rock-types. But it would have its respective resistance against Poison, Grass and Bug. So you would have to consider for whom it would be the best option during combat.
