And it is that Mercedes has just given an important twist to the electric van that it sells today in the heavy industrial segment, where the Mercedes eSprinter militates for its special load characteristics.
The new concept is called Mercedes eSprinter Sustaineer and is based on the most efficient version of the Sprinter range, the electric variant. The brand is convinced of the advantages offered by battery electric vans, so this conceptual proposal advances solutions that we will see in future generations of commercials, Camper and Marco Polo, within the «Ambition 2039» strategy.

In more detail, this futuristic and sustainable eSprinter features two new generation fine dust particle filters developed by specialists in the field, the Mann + Hummel. One installed in the underside of the body and another in the front area that is responsible for preventing particles in the passenger compartment. Another novelty is the solar panel on the roof. With an area of 4.8 square meters, can supply up to a thousand kilometers extras to autonomy, avoiding up to 23 battery recharges.
In the technical section there are also news, as Mercedes has incorporated the first cast iron brake discs with a ceramic bath. An innovation that reduces the generation of dust due to abrasion of the discs, while having an intelligent control of energy recovery. The rear view cameras, instead of mirrors, are also new and offer a larger field of view, with a sidewalk monitor on the right side that watches over this side.
In addition, the eSprinter Sustaineer shows the possibilities in the pure commercial sector, as the right front door is now a sliding with a sensor with a light barrier on that opens automatically when the driver enters the cargo space. A hermetic seal that also prevents heat loss from the new zonal air conditioning. A system that has been designed as a ring, in the case of the driver, with heated steering wheel and seat belt, a solution that increases autonomy.
