Thor is connected to the Phoenix force, and his story will be revealed in Avengers: 1,000,000 BC!
Marvel plans to reveal Thor’s secret history this summer in an upcoming Avengers comic. The publisher has released a poster of Avengers: 1,000,000 BC which will go on sale in July in the United States with the slogan, “Thor’s Secret Origin Revealed”. The poster features the symbol of the Phoenix Force, which is related to recent developments suggesting that the cosmic firebird is Thor’s true mother.
Marvel’s Prehistoric Avengers were first introduced in Marvel Legacy #1 2017, which kicked off screenwriter Jason Aaron’s run with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. His stories have been covered in various standalone Avengers issues, but it looks like we’ll learn more of this story as Thor and the connection to the X-Force are revealed.
The Avengers of 1,000,000 BC. c. they consist of the primordial forces of the Marvel Universe. Along with Thor’s father, Odin, we have the Phoenix, Black Panther, Iron Fist, Ghost Rider, Agamotto, and Starbrand. Many of these figures have taken current Avengers histories into account, with the current team roster featuring Thor, Phoenix (Echo), Black Panther, and Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes). The God of Thunder and the Phoenix Force have discussed their complicated relationship in both Avengers and Thor, but hopefully Avengers: 1,000,000 BC will clear up any confusion regarding Thor’s parentage.
Phoenix has been primarily associated with the X-Men franchise, possessing Jean Gray and also helping to resurrect her in Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Gray. The Avengers Story Arc “Enter the Phoenix” saw the Phoenix recruit heroes and villains from across the Marvel Universe to compete in a tournament, crowning the winner as their new host. Echo eventually won out and became the new bearer of the Phoenix, and she also starred in a miniseries titled Phoenix Song: Echo.
