Attention SPOILERS of the Marvel Black Cat # 1 comic. In this story, Felicia Hardy meets Captain America in the middle of the “King in Black” event and discovers what truly makes the Avenger one of the greatest heroes on Earth.
We can see Felicia Hardy / Black Cat in the middle of a heist and it shows why she is one of the best thieves in the criminal world. Work is interrupted when there is a battle between the dark god Knull and the heroes of Earth. She does not want to get involved in such a dangerous conflict but finds inspiration in the words of Captain America. So when Doctor Strange is swallowed up by Knull and the rest of the team fails, Felicia becomes the last resort in the fight to save the world.
Felicia Hardy plans a heist.
Thanks to the motivation created by Captain America, Felicia Hardy creates a plan to rescue Doctor Strange from Knull. But it only occurs to him to do the best he can, which is a good old-fashioned robbery. The comic ends when she divulges the plan to essentially rob Doctor Strange from the Dark god.
It is the steadfastness of Captain America that inspired others to follow his example to stand up for what they believe to be right. Even someone as cynical as Felicia Hardy was carried away by his inspiration when she came face to face with him. Although the interaction of Black Cat and Captain America was brief, they have much more in common than one would think. Originally, Felicia Hardy’s superpower was the manipulation of probabilities in those around her. The probability projection allowed him to defeat his opponents simply by giving them bad luck. But in later versions, he was injected against his wishes with the super-soldier serum that made Steve Rogers the Captain America.
From that point on, Felicia had the same improved physiology as Captain America, including superhuman abilities and an increased healing factor. But you will always be missing the true superpower of Steve Rogers: Inspiration and projecting hope.
