With the future of the MCU already planned and detailed, many are wondering why Marvel Studios decided to reveal so much information during their presentation at the past San Diego Comic-Con. In this way, Kevin Feige, president of this company, revealed that everything is due to the confusion caused by the fourth phase of the MCU.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Feige revealed the reason why we already know when and where the current MCU saga will end. Mainly, the reveal of the next two Avengers movies is a way for the public to get an idea of where this universe is going. This is what he commented on it:
“We had to offer a point of reference for people.
We have a slightly different rhythm. Phases 1, 2 and 3 were fewer projects over more years. Now we are doing more projects, with all the incredible series that we have been able to do on Disney+, for less years. And we felt like we had to let people know, that we used to have that reference point when the Avengers were coming to close a Phase, announcing the Multiverse Saga and the next two Avengers movies.”
For the past two years, audiences have wondered what the direction of the MCU is, as various projects pointed to various ideas. Series and movies like WandaVision, LOKI Spider-Man: No Way Home Y Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness have a focus on the multiverse, while Falcon and the Winter Soldier is directed to Thunderbolts. Nevertheless, there is not a great relationship with Thor: Love and Thunder, Shang-Chi, Eternals either Ms Marvel.
Thus, In revealing the plans for the fifth and sixth phases, Feige hopes that the audience will always have the final line in mind.. On related topics, this is the fifth phase of the MCU. Similarly, these are the differences between Thanos and Kang.
Editor’s Note:
Although it is true that there was no clear direction with the fourth phase of the MCU, revealing the final goal so early is something that could well affect Marvel in the future, since cinema and life are volatile, and perhaps the conclusion in mind will not be the one we see at the end of the day.
