In 2021 the metaverse grew 500 billion dollars.
By 2023 there will be approximately 1.7 billion metaverse users.
By 2030, this space is destined to become one of the most profitable experiences in the world.
The technology industry is still in the competition to reach the metatarsal, which is why various well-known brands have already launched products for this digital environment. It was revealed that Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has launched harsh criticism of Apple’s Apple Vision Pro, after the latest announcement of the purchase of the apple.
Being one of the two most important technological brands in the market, its competition continues to escalate.
Given this, we must mention figures that demonstrate the importance of the metaverse in this sector and for any company that seeks to reach it. A Bloomberg Intelligence report noted that during 2021, the value of the metaverse as a whole was approximately $500 million, however, its value is expected to increase fivefold by 2030.
In this sense, a study of BCG and Mordor Intelligence, details that it is estimated that the global size of the metaverse market will be around 59 billion US dollars in 2021 and that it will continue to grow until it touches the threshold of 300 billion in 2024.
Mark Zuckerberg already tested the Apple Vision Pro
This past week Apple presented its Apple Vision Pro to the market, already leaving several user reviews on social networks.
But recently one of those who was surprised to try this new product from the company led by Tim Cook was Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, and in a meeting with his employees, he launched harsh criticism of the glasses.
One of the main criticisms that the owner of Facebook mentioned was that these glasses are very expensive and that they do not offer anything new that they have not previously explored.
All these statements arise according to The Verge, who was present at the meeting, where the American businessman expressed his skepticism about the capabilities of the Apple Vision Pro and questioned its true value for users.
“From what I’ve seen initially, I would say the good news is that there isn’t any kind of silver bullet that they have for any of the constraints of the laws of physics that our teams haven’t explored and thought about yet,” said the businessman.
In the same meeting, Mark expressed his disagreement with the high cost of these virtual reality devices, and compared it with the Meta product, the Quest 3 that cost seven times less.
“I think your announcement really shows the difference in values and vision that our companies bring to this in a way that I think is really important. We innovate to make sure our products are as accessible and affordable for everyone as possible, and that’s a core part of what we do. And we have sold tens of millions of Quests,” he said.
Among his statements about the product, Mark acknowledged that Apple has made great strides in various technological fields, but these glasses seem to fall short of expectations.
“Our view of the metaverse and of presence is fundamentally social. It’s about people interacting in new ways and feeling closer in new ways. Our device is also about being active and doing things. Instead, all the demos they showed were of a person sitting alone on a couch. That might be the vision of the future of computing, but it’s not the one I want,” she added.
It is not the first time that Mark criticizes some of his competition’s products, as there is currently a growing rivalry between the troupes that are part of the technology industry and that lead the global market and seek to reach the metaverse and offer unique experiences to consumers.
