A few days ago we talked about the possible price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and the drop in quality of its components for this year. Everyone expects the base price of the device to be lower, but today we have very bad news for users and also for Samsung. A leak coming from MySmartPrice confirms prices for the new Galaxy Note 20 series. We won’t go too much into the price of the Note 20 Ultra, but the base model’s PVPr is overwhelming. Even more knowing the details of the supposed mobile that Samsung will launch.
More expensive than the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S20, but with worse features
The leaks about the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 let us know that the device will have a PVPr of 999 euros ($ 1,169) in the 4G version. This will be the base price of the Note 20 series since the model with 5G would go on sale for 1,099 euros (1,286 dollars). We are used to these prices that are around 1,000 euros/dollars, why it seems crazy to us?
All leaks point to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 being a mid-range high-end. It will lack a curved screen, its screen will be FullHD +, it will not have the most advanced camera system, the panel will be 60 Hz and some of the parts of the design are expected to be plastic. All this added to that Samsung is not renewing the processor with respect to the Galaxy S20 series.
This means that the device will have much more modest features than the basic Galaxy S20 and will be sold considerably more expensive. The Galaxy S20 4G was launched on the market with a PVPr of 909 euros ($ 1,064). This price included a curved screen with QuadHD resolution, a premium design without plastics and a 120 Hz screen of incredible quality. Now the device will not only lack these features, it will be more expensive.
At all times we are talking about leaks and not official information, so it is possible that some data is wrong. The new leaked price data makes us think that the device will not be as it has been leaked, because it would be crazy to have a 999 euros/dollars mobile phone with those characteristics on the market.
At the moment we can only wait, but if both leaks come true, Samsung could launch on August 5 one of the high-end with the worst quality/price ratio in recent years. We already anticipate that if everything is fulfilled it will not be a recommended smartphone in any case.
What do you think? Do you think it will have that hardware and that price?
