The Lada brand is undergoing an ambitious internationalization process. The assembly of vehicles outside of Russia is a necessary step to continue its expansion. The successful Russian brand has announced the start of car assembly in Uzbekistan.
Lada continues with its particular internationalization process. This iconic and very important Russian car brand wants to consolidate its position far from its “motherland”. A process that passes, in a first phase, through Central Asia. For example, the brand is significantly expanding its network of points of sale in Kazakhstan. Now, in this case we must go to another neighboring country. And more specifically to Uzbekistan. The reason? Lada’s industrial activity.
AvtoVAZ has announced the start of Lada car assembly in Uzbekistan. To do this, an alliance has been established with Roodell. The first models have already left the assembly line and are being shipped to the company’s dealer network. After doing the same in Kazakhstan, the firm continues to expand its assembly capacity far from the factories than in Russia.
The Lada models that are assembled in Uzbekistan
The assembly process is carried out in a few facilities located in the Jizzakh Free Economic Zone and is operated by Roodell teams. All the staff who work there have received the relevant training from Lada. Now, what models are assembled there? The chosen ones are none other than the most popular models in Uzbekistan as well as in other countries in the area.
Lada is already assembling the Vesta in Uzbekistan (Vesta SW and Vesta SW Cross) as well as the XRAY Cross and the Largus (Largus and Largus Cross). Uzbekistan has quickly become one of the main export markets for AvtoVAZ. The Lada brand has a great acceptance and popularity in this market.
The local assembly will allow a better response to the demand generated and, what is even more important, will allow the Lada models to be made more accessible. Throughout the turbulent year 2020, Lada sales surpassed the 5,000-unit barrier in Uzbekistan through the Roodell dealer network, which is made up of 18 stores.
Currently the Lada range in Uzbekistan consists of the Vesta (Cross, SW and SW Cross), XRAY Cross, Largus (Largus and Largus Cross), Niva Legend (3 and 5 doors) and Niva Travel.
