KIA is aware of the role that electrification already plays, which is why it will take advantage of the European (and world) showcase that will be the Munich Motor Show 2021 to present two highly anticipated models. The ambitious process of electrification of the KIA range is underway. The company has commissioned all its machinery to carry out the development of a long list of new models. Some models that will have in common their commitment to electrification. That is why the Munich Motor Show will be the stage in which KIA will unveil two new models that are called to play a leading role.
The New generation KIA Sportage to debut in Europe. Specifically, the version dedicated exclusively to Europe will be released. It is the first time in its 28-year history that the Sportage will have a version specifically for the European market. And what is equally important, the new Sportage will be unveiled with plug-in hybrid mechanics (PHEV). It is also the first time that the successful compact SUV will be offered with this type of mechanics.
At the heart of the new Sportage PHEV will be a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.6-liter T-GDi gasoline engine accompanied by a small electric motor and a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery.
You can also meet the new KIA EV6 live. The first of a family of new generation electric cars. The EV6 is a step forward in KIA’s commitment to 100% electric technology.
The Munich Motor Show 2021 will open its doors to the public from September 7 to 12. The KIA booth will be located in the outdoor exhibition space at Odeonsplatz.
