- The Federal Prosecutor’s Office for the Consumer affirmed that it will keep an eye on Walmart and Liverpool, establishments that were seen in this controversy last year
- The Good End will take place from November 10 to 16, both in physical stores and in online centers
Good End 2021 is getting closer and closer and, as a first measure, the Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office (Profeco) revealed that it will closely monitor Liverpool and Walmart.
This action will be carried out in order that both establishments do not return to offer products that, at that moment, they do not have, as happened last year, and to prevent the consumer from being scammed.
Through a press conference, Ricardo Sheffield, head of the Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office, announced what the sanctions would be for those companies that replicate this practice.
As indicated, in case of misleading promotion, the penalty will be 3.5 million pesos, this only for large suppliers. Regarding small businesses, the fine will not be so great.
When is the Good End?
The 2021 edition of Buen Fin will take place from November 10 to 16, both in physical stores and in online centers.
Since 2010, the year in which this initiative began, the Good End has positioned itself among the most common practices of consumers, and each year is one of the dates most awaited by them.
However, although it can be a great showcase for brands, these types of initiatives often lend themselves to a series of consumer fraud. It has even happened that some companies offer products that they do not particularly have at that time.
In fact, on the Good End last year, both Liverpool and Walmart were involved in controversies of this type, which is why during the next Good End Sheffield stated that it will be monitoring both companies so that they do not incur again. in said practice.
Given this, and after being questioned by those cases in particular, since they are the establishments that have received the most complaints from consumers:
“Let’s hope that this practice is not repeated during the Good End, we will be paying special attention to both electronic and on-site sales of these two providers because they are the ones that have presented the problem the most in the past,” said the owner.
Good End: a great showcase for brands?
Looking towards the end of the year, the Good End is one of the initiatives most announced and expected by consumers, who are always looking for offers and lower prices.
Of course, with the passage of time, it has been questioned whether prices really fall during the Good End, sometimes reaching the conclusion that prices do not present a significant or truly attractive reduction.
This, added to the practices in which both Liverpool and Walmart have been involved, undoubtedly speaks of a bad image on the part of companies, especially in a context in which they have everything to increase their income.
We will see how the next edition of the Good End will turn out, a space, undoubtedly, important for brands and companies to reach more consumers and increase their sales.
In these times of pandemic and a half closure, it is interesting how this shopping period will be lived, taking into account that there are probably fewer restrictions compared to last year.
