Things have gotten complicated in pre-production on Joker 2, the sequel to Joaquin Phoenix in the role of the Clown Prince of Crime.
As reported The Ankler Exclusively, the script for Joker 2 has suffered “a small inconvenience”. Therefore, work on the project has been halted until further notice. It is not clear what the real reason for the delay is, but the reality is somewhat tricky. Director, Todd Phillips, he still hasn’t delivered a single draft that he promised. Things get complicated for the sequel to joaquin phoenix on the skin of Clown Prince of Crime from DC Comics.
With things as they are at the moment in the offices of Warner Bros. Pictures… the most sensible thing would be to completely disregard this film. If there isn’t even a single draft of the script for Joker 2 completed, the tape should not be expected for a long time. Maybe until 2025. For example, if the script were delivered this summer (without revisions), shooting could start in early 2023. This would mean that the film would hit theaters in 2024. Imagine how things are in the pre-production of this sequel starring Joaquin Phoenix.
Should we really care about what is happening?
Actually, there is no reason to be concerned about Joker 2, although yes to be nervous. If Todd Phillips’ script finishes before this fall, and it should finish before this season, the film would almost certainly see the light of day five years after the original film. That’s a long time to wait for the fans. To top it off, there is the villain of Barry Keoghan that have been presented to us in batman. And that has very little to do with the character of Joaquin Phoenix.
It’s been too long since the first installment was released. Although it seems that Todd Phillips has been able to finish the script of Joker 2 a bunch of years after getting to work, it wouldn’t be surprising if the filmmaker himself or Joaquin Phoenix gave up on the sequel project after this. After all, there are many stories that come out… but there are also many that don’t. You just need to admit it and move on.
