According to the British chain of cinemas Vue, the actor JK Simmons, who plays JJ Jameson in the Marvel films, is credited within the plot of Venom: Carnage Freed.
Jameson’s most recent appearance in Marvel films came in 2019, when the editor of the Daily Bugle revealed Spider-Man’s identity in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Jameson came back to stay?
In June 2020, JK Simmons confirmed that after signing a contract, JJ Jameson will be in three more films from Sony Pictures’ Marvel Character Universe, without specifying whether it will be in the third Spider-Man film, or in another production.
“I don’t know if I would use the word wait… When we signed for the first movie, we signed a contract to do two sequels as well. “
Simmons noted that his version of the infamous editor of the Daily Bugle will follow in more Spidey-related productions.
“In my case, (I have) a unilateral contract in which you agree to do it but are not necessarily committed to using your character in subsequent films. “
Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be directed by Andy Serkis and will feature Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock / Venom, Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kassady / Carnage, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying and Reid Scott as Dan Lewis.
Its premiere for the cinemas of the Mexican Republic is scheduled for October 14, 2021.
