In addition to the movie The Suicide Squad and its spin-off series The Peacemaker, James Gunn is working on a new series for DC.
Clearly from DC Comics, Gunn has a thing for villains. Perhaps because in them he finds the freedom to cross moral boundaries without ruining his reputation. The truth is that the “villain-verse” of the DCEU will be extended to the movie The Suicide Squad and its spin-off series The Peacemaker, James Gunn will add a new series inspired by another DC Comics character.
According to what the filmmaker revealed to Collider, he is involved in another television project for DC after Peacemaker, although he did not reveal if it is a second spin-off of The Suicide Squad.
At first, when asked about another project for DC, Gunn gave a little thought to the aforementioned medium: “You know, we are going one step ahead. We’re on it. We’ll see what happens. I will know very soon. I took care of it last night and this morning. ” However, when asked if this secret project would be for television or for film, Gunn gave a direct answer: “It is for television. There you have it ”.
Most specialists point out that it will surely be another series derived from the movie The Suicide Squad, either with the characters that survived (Harley Quinn, Ratcatcher 2, King Shark or Bloodsport, any of them would be wonderful) or some kind of prequel with some of the villains killed in the film: Rick Flag, Polka-Dot Man, Weasel, Javelin, TDK, Blackguard, Savant, Captain Boomerang or Mongal.
