The creator of Avatar makes some statements in relation to the Ubisoft video game.
Although its existence was revealed in 2017, it was not until E3 2021 that it was announced. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the first video game in the saga that will take us to explore a unique part of Pandora. The project, which was scheduled for this year, was delayed to 2023 for all its platforms (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, PC, Stadia and Luna). Now, the creator of this universe, james cameronhas revealed his involvement in the game.
“We are very excited about what Ubisoft is doing with its game authoring“, he explains to the IGN media. “I don’t tell them what to do: they know their world, their business and their market. We just watch that they don’t do anything non-canon as far as Na’vi culture and what the RDA does on Pandora and all that kind of stuff.“, confirming that his involvement is based on reviewing and not creating content for the game.
Beyond Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the saga that began with a movie in 2009 and will finally continue this year, there are endless projects. “What we are looking for now is to create a persistent and visitable world with a cadence of sequels“, reveals Cameron. However, the continuity of the franchise depends on the success of these first projects.
This way, if the movie Avatar: The Way of Water is a hit in theaters, “we’ll go ahead and have a movie every two years or so for quite some time“. Also, “we have the World of Pandora in Florida, and who knows if it will also end up in other theme parks of the Disney regime“.
