The registration market in Italy continues on a roll and once again we have a new green month of improvements in sales compared to the same month of 2020. With a total of 149,438 units registered, the improvement is 12.6%.
With this consecutive improvement, the annual calculation continues to rise and already reaches the figure of 884,237 units, which means an improvement of 51.4% compared to the same period in 2020. Or to put it another way, andn so far this year, 300,513 more units have been sold than last year And it doesn’t look like things will get too bad if COVID and the chip crisis allow it.
Going to the ranking and getting to the point with the changes that we have had this month, it is necessary to highlight the great improvement of the Dacia Sandero that climbs 8 positions since May and reaches second place with a difference of only 30 units with the Lancia Ypsilon that now remains in third place.
The new Mokka is already making itself felt in the Italian market, reaching the top 50 just ahead of its veteran brother, the Crossland.
It should be noted that Opel despite not having had a good month on paper since it remains in tenth place as a brand, has achieved great results with the Opel Corsa that has climbed 7 positions since May and the arrival of the Opel Mokka to the top 50. On the other hand, the Crossland has dropped 21 places to 43, just behind the new Mokka that points ways and that in the future it could be a problem for models like the Jeep Renegade or the Ford Puma.
As in other markets, Tesla with the Model 3 has had a good month, it has not been as noticeable as in Norway for example, but it enters the top 50 again with about 1,000 new units on the market.
If we now analyze the movements that we have had within the ranking, it is important to highlight that Models like the BMW X1, Toyota RAV4, Nissan Juke and the MINI hatch have dropped from the top 50 while other models such as the Seat Arona, Volkswagen UP! and the already mentioned Mokka have risen to the top 50 of the ranking in June.
In terms of brands, Renault in June has reached third place, Peugeot up to fourth place and Ford has dropped a total of 6 positions in just one month. A hard blow that brands like Dacia have taken advantage of to climb up to 7 positions.
