Is McDonald’s pickle art?
The popularity of McDonald’s around the world is no secret to anyone, where it registers a large number of fans who are willing to do anything to consume its products.
But a new expression recently surprised when an artist exhibited at the Gallery Michael Lett from Aucklandin Sydney, a pickle from McDonald’s, valued at $6,277.
The piece entitled “Pickle”, is by Australian artist Matthew Griffin and has had various reactions to the digital pulse.
The creative piece has attracted attention because, as the artist mentions, it presents a single McDonald’s pickle on a white gallery ceiling.
Likewise, the lucky owner who pays the four-figure price will also have to do so for a cheeseburger that is part of the Griffin collection.
With that burger, the owner will receive instructions on how to recreate the piece in their own space. Other pieces in the exhibition include “Prudence Flint’s Banana”which is a work of art consisting of a graphite pencil sketch on paper of a woman eating a banana while sitting on a bench.
The exhibition has had various comments, most of which are critical of the supposed art.
“The police kicked me out of a McDonald’s for doing this when I was a teenager, now it’s art”, says a netizen.
For his part, the director of Fine Arts SydneyRyan Moore told news.com.au that “People don’t have to think it’s art if they don’t want to. Anything can be a work of art, but not everything is.

The lucky buyer of Griffin’s artwork won’t be given the exact pickle, but rather instructions for how to recreate the artwork in their own space—a gesture that elevates the object beyond those that could be found on any McDonald’s ceiling https://t.co/gcaiAkAOdq
