The WHO warns that Mexicans are the most stressed people in the world at work
In Mexico, three out of four workers report having some type of work stress.
Without a doubt, the pandemic marked a before and after in the daily lives of millions of people, who, as a result of the forced social distancing, found it necessary to modify all kinds of behaviors, putting today sustainability, mental health and wellness, as part of a new normal.
Within the current social context, not only technology saw an acceleration in terms of the foundation of its processes, since social distancing and therefore the way it is consumed were affected, so much so that today social networks have been taken as the great sale, with which society counts to publicize all kinds of circumstances.
However, as mentioned by PProject Management Institute (PMI)within the new normality, it is not only about physical health, but also mental, since within the initial study carried out by Qualtrics in April 2020, 41.6 percent of those surveyed said their mental health had declined since the start of the pandemica figure that shows a deterioration in social and personal behavior.
Investments in health, more than a necessity for companies
According to what is indicated by the Ministry of Health and the Government of Mexico, at least three out of four Mexican employees suffer from some type of work stress, this in accordance with what is indicated by the World Health Organization (WHO), who warns that Mexicans are the most stressed people in the world at work.
In the same way, it has been pointed out that the younger workforce also suffer from problems related to mental health, an aspect for which companies must begin to implement strategies that allow them to maintain healthy employees, since these afflictions directly affect the productivity and performance of workers, which translates into problems and losses for companies.
So much so that according to Morpheus and the WHO“the wealth of companies is measured by the health and well-being of their employees, so they must bet on the care and well-being of workers” and to a great extent for its comfort, since happy and satisfied employees recruit more committed and efficient.
However, by having a dissatisfied workforce, there are low performance, since aspects such as lack of concentration, anxiety, make it difficult to handle various tasks, which directly affect the productivity and efficiency of the companies, in addition to the perspective outside the work environment.
