Just a few days after the launch of Konami’s new video game, eFootball, and successor to PES, its rival, EA Sports, has taken a huge hit in the market.
Since Konami announced that PES would cease to exist, it was known that it would be a risky strategy, especially when EA Sports was betting heavily on FIFA on the new consoles. However, eFootball said it would be better than PES.
The story is far from reality, because last Thursday (September 30), the first eFootball was released and criticism and comments from consumers immediately arrived. And with good reason.
The errors in the video game were part of the trends in social networks, where users did not let their discontent and disappointment pass with respect to Konami’s new bet.

And it is that, for many years, the market of soccer video games has lived interesting moments between the launches of EA Sports and Konami, being the Canadian company the one that continues to lead.
However, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer looked like it would hit a big hit in recent years after it stole some important licenses and brought them to its video game exclusively.
Sure, winning a battle against EA Sports seems very complicated, but, following the trend, PES could have won a battle against FIFA in the next few years.
Now, it was assumed that with the arrival of eFootball and its free to play game system, the idea was to take that big leap, but the story was totally different.
According to reports from Steam, the digital video game distribution platform developed by Valve Corporation, eFootball is the lowest rated video game in its history.
91 percent of eFooball reviews on the platform are negative, which focus both on the graphics of the video game and various bugs that prevent users from playing naturally.
Another aspect that highlights the complaints deposited in Steam is regarding the little offer that eFootball offers, which, in addition, is poorly done.
That, to this day, eFootball is the worst rated video game in the history of Steam It is, without a doubt, a hard blow for Konami and its much announced successor to PES, because, as if that were not enough, they come from the same community of gamers; it is the users themselves who are telling Konami that their product is poorly made.
In addition to this, FIFA 22 arrived on October 1, being one of the most anticipated releases by the gamer community that, despite the loss of several important licenses (which went to eFootball), continue to trust the quality of EA Sports.
Let’s also remember that, a few weeks ago, a new soccer video game was announced, called UFL, which was presented at the last Gamescon and that, immediately, it was mentioned that it would arrive to fight the two giants: EA Sports and Konami.
Now, with the bad reputation that eFooball has earned, it seems time for the UFL to take flight and begin its journey, first, to try to outperform Konami.
We will see how the following months turn out for eFootball and Konami, who, through their social networks, already apologized to all affected users and promised to improve soon.
Now read.
