Original content, Instagram’s new bet to face TikTok.
This day, Adam Mosseri announced that the new focus of Instagram is content creators and their originality.
Instagram has just over 1.4 million users globally.
This day, Instagram, in the voice of Adam Mosseri, responsible for the social network, announced that original content will be its new bet.
It is true that, for the moment, TikTok has not managed to get above Instagram, although it is close to reaching it and, in the event of a major oversight, it could soon surpass it.
The ByteDance platform, as we have already known, heard and even read in various publications, has had enormous growth since the pandemic took over the world and its practices. Young people now turned their attention to the Chinese social network.
Thus, throughout these months, we have witnessed the evolution of TikTok: from being a short video social network, it became a powerful commercial showcase that is now practically essential for brand strategies.
Instagram bets on original content
That’s why now Instagram is determined not to let time pass and develop functions that allow it to follow above TikTokeven though the task may seem difficult, but at least he is trying.
The idea of the platform owned by Facebook is to continue promoting its content creators with new functions, the same ones that Adam Mosseri shared with all his followers today through Twitter.
In a video of no more than two minutes, Mosseri explained that, now, Instagram’s commitment will be original content:
“If you create something from scratch, you should be able to get more credits than those who are just sharing something they found on someone else. We’re going to do more to try and value original content more, particularly compared to reposted content. Creators are very important to the future of Instagram, and we want to make sure they are successful and get all the credit they deserve.”said Adam Mosseri.

In other words, what Instagram, based on the words of Mosseri, is to reward the original content that the platform hosts, a measure that, among other things, will face the acceleration of its main rival: TikTok.
TikTok and its own strategies
TikTok already exceeds one billion monthly active users, while Instagram has almost 1.5 billion Internet users who use the platform every month.
The Chinese social network recently announced that it would incorporate the Spanish soccer league into its content, which can be seen live and through its platform.
This initiative stems from a “pioneering agreement” between Gol’s parent company, Mediapro, with LaLiga and TikTokwhich seeks to project “the commitment to innovation and adaptation of content to new digital consumption formats.”
In this way, the Spanish league is “the first major European league to offer a match in this format through the video platform”as expressed through a statement.
In order to continue adding and not subtracting, as has happened with Facebook, TikTok has also been working on different functions, such as “I don’t like”, in contrast to the “Like” of the Meta platform.
It should be noted that TikTok’s “Dislike” will give users the opportunity to feel more in control of their favorite content on the social network.
