We know that to enjoy a great kitchen you need a lot of space. But when there is, you can afford to choose different styles of cooking like the colonial; a classic and timeless style that is beginning to be associated with American and Canadian kitchens (due to the export of its most televised television programs).
And it is that when space is not a problem (as in his case), you can opt for the color, the moldings and its large islands to achieve that warm and pleasant atmosphere that makes you feel good as soon as you see it.
The Catalan kitchen firm Rekker presents agran romantic colonial style kitchen, thanks in large part to his latest Bakea furniture collection. A collection full of natural textures and warm colors, that pampers every detail until it achieves that cozy atmosphere that defines this style of kitchen.
The keys to this colonial-style kitchen
Natural wood furniture
In this kitchen Bekker bets on one of the trends of the moment; natural wood furniture.
Bakea furniture is made of open pore lacquered oak wood. Thanks to this technique, the wood preserves its natural grain, giving it a rustic touch that is perceived both visually and by touch. The handles are integrated into the moldings themselves. The countertop, made of porcelain with a marble finish, coexists with the
perfection on the furniture achieving a pleasant natural aesthetic.
The details that are not seen (but that take advantage of the space)
As usual, space is always needed more in the kitchen in this kitchen, the height of the plinth has been reduced to a minimum, which allows increasing the storage capacity of all the furniture.
The interior of cabinets, drawers and drawers can be customized with a variety of accessories. For example, a practical tray with a grid made of wood that is ideal for cut bread comfortably and cleanly thanks to its compartment to collect crumbs.
The pantry cabinet is made entirely of oak wood and has at the bottom of two drawers with handles recessed is finished in copper. A functional wardrobe as well as harmonious with the rest of the furniture.
Showcase included in the kitchen
For the design of this kitchen a display case has been included that recovers the concept of sideboard in the kitchen. It is the IKS model showcase made with satin black profiles.
Its minimalist aesthetic contrasts with the aesthetics of the rest of the kitchen and is partly achieved to the innovative hinges inserted in the structure of the furniture and the door, so that they are completely hidden. The superior lighting of this with flexiled provides an indirect point of light that adds warmth to the environment.
An island that adds storage capacity
In a large kitchen you cannot miss a large island that expands the kitchen storage area. To give continuity to the rustic-chic aesthetic of the set, from Rekker they propose the holes where to place wicker baskets.
A sink with a visible front
To reinforce the classic and vintage aesthetics, the laundry room is not recessed but is a whole piece with a visible skirt giving it the prominence it deserves.
Washing and ironing area
This kitchen also has a ironer and laundry that are located behind some folding and retractable doors that leave it hidden when you are not working on it. It is a spacious and functional space for the daily care of clothes with a place to wash, iron, store laundry and with cabinets to store cleaning supplies.
