inDrive and Uber
The platform uber is one of the best-known transport companies in the world today. It was founded in 2009 in San Francisco, California, and has since expanded to more than 900 cities around the world. It is used by millions of people every day to request a trip, mainly by car. Uber’s success is due in large part to its practicality. With a few taps on the phone screen, a car can be ordered to pick you up anywhere, anytime. The app also shows an estimate of the cost of the trip before confirming the reservation, allowing users to plan their budget in advance. However, Uber’s business model has not been without controversy since in several countries, the disapproval of traditional taxi drivers has been seen, who have continuously protested against Uber, arguing that the company does not comply with the same regulations and requirements as they. Despite these problems, uber it remains the most popular choice for travelers around the world. According to Statista data, Mexico and Brazil are the countries that use Uber the most, with 52 percent and 43 percent of respondents on-line, respectively, who claim to have used the application in the last year. While in the United States, almost one in five people say they have used it. The figures are somewhat lower in European countries such as Spain and France, at 14 percent and 10 percent respectively. In Germany, the US company plays an even smaller role, with only 3 percent of those interviewed in the country using the app in the last year.
In the case of driver is a transportation platform that connects passengers with independent drivers. Unlike other transportation services, this app does not set fixed fares, which means that users can negotiate the price of the trip directly with the driver. Users can check the estimated fare for the trip before confirming the request. If they are satisfied with the price, they can confirm the ride and wait for the driver to pick them up.
inDrive and Uber driver recounts his most disturbing experience as a driver
A driver named @Diegodie1 who works through platforms like inDrive and uber recounted in his account TikTok a recent experience for which he could not find an explanation. The driver comments that in his case he prefers to work at dawn rather than at night, he starts his day at 4 am. On one occasion, he received a WhatsApp message at 4:30 am, a man asked him to pick him up and sent him his address, later he proceeded to pick him up, the driver comments that a young man got on who looked sad and even got he began to cry, told him that he did not know where to go, that he was bored and that he should take a walk anywhere. As he progressed on the trip, the young man told him that he had many problems in his life and after a while he asked him to stop at a pharmacy, the driver agreed and after waiting for him for a while he realized that he had been late, so he stopped. He looked for it but couldn’t find it anywhere. The driver decided to dial the number he had registered, where a woman answered him, and since he did not know anything about what had happened, the driver explained the situation to him. The woman showed her a photo to identify the man who requested the trip and after the driver affirmed, the woman simply assured him that it was her brother who had died days before. This generated mistrust on both sides as they thought it was a scam. However, the driver was so taken aback that he no longer felt safe to continue working that day. His story immediately went viral and has so far already reached 5 million views.
