What can we expect from the documentary In full light: The Narvarte case?
in full light It is a journalistic exercise that arises from the investigation and translation into cinematographic language of the eleven thousand pages of the 24 volumes of the file, exhibiting ignored clues and ends that have not been tied up. In the production, the testimonies of close relatives –and of the deceased themselves, in moments prior to the case– are confronted against the conclusions offered by Javier Duarte, former Governor of Veracruz, and Miguel Angel Mancera, former Head of Government of the City of Mexico, but the complicity of the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office is also exposed.
In an official statement, the following is anticipated:
“In full light tries to contribute to the search for truth and justice that for seven years has been led by the families of the victims and accompanying organizations such as Article 19, as well as to vindicate the memory of Alejandra, Nadia, Mile, Yesenia and Rubén, calling on the audiences to get involved and raise their voices for this case that continues unpunished”.
It should be noted that, as has rarely been done in the documentary genre, the investigation will be recreated in two very innovative ways: with a scale model and with the real-size reconstruction of the apartment on Luz Saviñón #1909 street, carried out in a forum by production designer Alisarine Ducolomb. This was done with the aim of being able to relive the events safely, deeply and without falling into re-victimization.

The director had this to say about the production process:
“We as a society witnessed this framework, but we always thought that there was something else behind it. That is why we approached the relatives of the victims and had access to the file. We investigated all the evidence and established statements for 3 years and at the same time we confronted them with the different versions, realizing that it was a messy and manipulated investigation to establish a version of the facts that did not escalate to the real culprits”.

I’m a fan of Rocky and Back to the Future and obviously one day I’ll climb the “Philly Steps” and drive a DeLorean. Faithful believer that cinema is the best teleportation machine, and also that on the big screen we can all see ourselves represented. I constantly, like Scott Pilgrim, ask myself: “Does bread make you fat?”
