Elon Musk is considering launching his own mobile phone brand.
The decision is conditional on a potential ban on Twitter by tech giants Apple and Google, which dominate the global operating system ecosystem with iOS and Android, respectively.
Indeed, the tycoon’s statements come after the rumors related to the possibility that Apple and Google, owners of the two most important mobile application stores, could block the social network recently acquired by Musk due to the changes that the tycoon is implementing.
“If Apple and Google remove Twitter from their app stores, Elon Musk should produce his own smartphone,” the specialist and host of a podcast in the United States said in a Twitter thread, Liz Wheeler.
If Apple & Google boot Twitter from their app stores, @elonmusk should produce his own smartphone. Half the country would happily ditch the biased, snooping iPhone & Android. The man builds rockets to Mars, a silly little smartphone should be easy, right?

In the thread of the social network, the content creator also said that many people would “happily abandon the iPhone and Android, which are biased and snoopers.”
He also said that if Musk is able to make rockets to go to Mars, making a phone will be “silly for him.”
In response to Wheeler’s post, Musk tweeted: “I hope it doesn’t have to come to that, but if I’m left with no choice, I’ll make a phone.”
I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone

Musk and his brand phone
In January 2022, the big tech media reported that Tesla, also owned by Elon Musk, was looking to make phones under its brand.
At that time it was said that the launch would be at the end of 2022 and that the device was going to be called Tesla Model “Pi”.
According to information at that time, the project was aimed at ending the market dominance of Apple and Samsung smartphones, which together with Xiaomi lead global sales.
Tesla’s idea was to sell the “Model Pi” at a cost three times less than the iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple’s most expensive model at the time.
The co-founder and leader of SpaceX, Neuralink and The Boring Company (now also from Twitter) promised that his model could be used in space, since the person who has a Tesla Pi would always be connected to the Starlink satellite internet network and he could use the device even on Mars.
Also among other functions that drew the attention of the experts was that the Tesla Model Pi could take pictures of the night sky and larger celestial bodies. As you could also do cryptocurrency mining.
In a video with computer images that circulated on social networks, you could see the possible design of the smartphone, with a case that would allow the device to be charged using sunlight and with the fastest processor in history.
