This we did not expect: Idris Elba has confirmed that he will play Knuckles in ‘Sonic: The Movie 2’. Specifically, the famous actor whom we can currently see ‘The Suicide Squad’ will be in charge of lending his voice to the celebrated character of the Sega franchise.
Knuckles first appeared in the video game ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ and is the guardian of the Mother Emerald, a powerful and ancient relic. It is also a red echidna whose knuckles are actually sharp spikes. It stands out for its strength, comparable to the speed of Sonic.
Elba thus joins a cast in which the participation of James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore and Jim Carrey. The latter recovering his excesses of the 90s in titles such as ‘Ace Ventura’ or ‘A madman at home’ to give life to Dr. Robotnik was undoubtedly the best of the entertaining first installment.
The staging of ‘Sonic: The Movie 2’ will again be run by Jeff Fowler, while Pat Casey, Josh Miller and John Whittington they will take care of the script. The first two have already participated in the script for the first installment, while Whittington co-wrote ‘Batman: The LEGO Movie’ and ‘The LEGO Ninjago Movie’.
