A humid heat of 26 degrees Celsius was felt at 4:00 p.m. this Thursday, September 14, in Barcelona, Spain. However, inside the Casa Llotja De Mar the atmosphere was burning with emotion. The reason? Huawei has just launched its new smart watch: Huawei Watch GT4, which in the coming days will be available throughout Latam.
Amid applause from the press from the five continents – where the presence of FayerWayer stood out – William Tian, President and Huawei Consumer BG Europe was direct: the launch price ranges from 249.90 to 369 euros (€) for the 46 mm GT4 units-depending on the model- and starting September 21, pre-sales will be available in Latin America.
However, one detail is worth specifying: one thing is the date on which the queue starts to purchase it sooner and another thing is when it actually arrives. As confirmed by Huawei to FayerWayer, it arrives in Chile on October 12. To Peru and Colombia, time will tell. We will be informing the dates for the rest of Latam.
What are the news?
– Longer lasting battery: One of the most notable changes by the company was the battery life, which in this case would be much longer than previous models. How much more? Up to two weeks of autonomy, according to what they officially say. We will have to wait for the review to know whether or not this will be a fulfilled promise.
– Greater precision: The watch comes with updated HUAWEI TruSeenTM 5.5+, which claims to increase the accuracy of readings by 30%. Likewise, sleep monitoring is also intended to be of better quality, including more tailored recommendations to improve it. Likewise, it promises to improve intelligent monitoring of the menstrual cycle, using basal body temperature, respiratory rate and heart rate for a more complete evaluation.
In fact, in version 3.0, the feature is 33% more accurate in its predictions for the first day period, compared to the main watches on the market. This helps prepare you for physical changes at any time of the month, allowing you to manage your diet, exercise and stress management according to the body’s changing needs.
– Health early warning system: The model also includes calorie measurement with its Stay Fit application; measuring the regularity of the heartbeat to performing detailed heart rate analysis; LED sensors, to take PPG readings to measure changes at any time of the day, capturing vital data on the user’s heart rate, rhythm and regularity.
This latest technology, in fact, promises to “alert users when a suspected episode of atrial fibrillation is detected, providing an early warning system that can help people be aware of potential risks” as detailed by Huawei.
– Design improvements: A classic item in any renovation is design touch-ups. In this case, the SmartWatch GT4 model goes a little further in terms of combining a smart watch with a wearable accessory.
Prices and colors
The 46mm GT4 model comes with price differences depending on its model. In this way, the black strap classic was launched at 249 euros; the forest green one came out to 269; same price for the brown strap one; while the titanium gray has a price of 369 euros.
Other model variables are the classic 41mm models, which were presented at the following prices: with a white leather strap at 249 euros; same price for the one with the matte black strap; in gold stainless steel at 299 euros or in silver at $399.
During the heated day, Huawei reported that the launch of these smart watches is part of a “new strategy of wearables” with which it is intended to cover both new audiences and new products.
In fact, the auditorium of the Casa Llotja De Mar applauded Mr. William Tian almost standing up, who, in addition to reporting on the launch of the Huawei Watch GT4, also took advantage of the attention of the press that was present to report on glasses, headphones, tablets smart products, among other products that Latin American readers will be able to learn about thanks to FayerWayer.
