Just by touching it, it will be displayed and active in this conversion. This means that in the rest of the contacts or groups we will also have to activate it. More than anything because the properties are not unified throughout the app, but are separated. Tapping on another part of the screen or on the same bubble will minimize the conversation within the chat bubble so we can continue with what we were doing.
How are they deactivated?
The process to deactivate them on our smartphone is not very different, we can do it from the notification itself that will appear at the top and then by tapping on the same button with which we activated it. In case it does not appear or we prefer to do it in another way, we will have to follow these steps:
- We access the settings of our mobile device with Android 11.
- We go to the applications and notifications section.
- We click on conversations.
- Inside we choose the one we want to disable.
- And finally we deactivate the option «turn this conversation into a bubble».
Over time we will discover if the Android customization layers integrate the options for use chat bubbles or if it is limited as an option tied directly to Android stock. On the other hand, if we have Android 12, we will have to go to Settings> Notifications> Bubbles. Once inside, we can deactivate this functionality of our mobile device without any problem.
How they are configured in Android
Once we have decided to enable this functionality within the alert settings of our mobile device, we must bear in mind that with this functionality activated we will see how in some messaging apps we find the icon in the lower right corner of your notification Chat bubble. Once we see it, we will have to touch it, since it will be at that moment when we will actually be able to activate this functionality on our Android smartphone. Or, at least, for that application in question or contact.
Therefore, as soon as we click on that option, the conversation will be displayed in a different way, since we will see it in a floating window above the app we were using. And once we click on the contact icon, the window will be minimized, so we can move it to any side of the screen touch of our mobile device. In the case of wanting to remove it, we will only have to move it to the lower and central part of the panel of our smartphone.
And when the contact sends us a new message again, it will appear again directly with the form of this functionality. In addition, from there we will have the possibility to answer. To do this, we just have to click on it to open its floating window. And not only this, but all conversations will also be grouped with the one that is activated.
If in your case you want to configure them, we will have to click on the Manage option that will appear at the bottom of the pop-up window in question. When we are at that point, we will have the possibility to set it to stop showing that conversation in a bubble. Or, even, access the settings of that application to enter its settings menu.
When we are inside, we will see the notification settings of an app, which we can customize how we want. From this configuration we can activate some of the following options:
- All conversations can be displayed: it will default to displaying in this form for all conversations.
- The chosen conversations can be shown: they are not shown in any conversation until we activate this option again from their notification.
- Do not create: none will be created for any type of message.
In addition, at the bottom of that section we can see the conversations in which we have activated this function on our mobile device. So when we touch the X we will get to disable them for each contact in which we had previously enabled them.
However, nowadays we find that there are very few messaging applications compatible with this feature for notifications from mobiles that have Android 11 or higher. Some of the compatible apps that we can find are Google Messages, Telegram and Skype. So, for now, applications like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger are not yet supported. Therefore, we will have to keep waiting so that with the passage of time more and more software will allow this function to be enabled from our mobile phone.
