Surely for many, changing mobile terminals is something you are used to due to the updates suffered by the main phones on the market, and which do not go unnoticed. However, not all users know how easy it is to switch phones in the Android world and more than one can end up with a good headache before trying. So today we want to show you what we must do to change from one phone to another without losing half of the data.
The first option is to store everything on the microSD. If the old terminal had this card and the new one also, you will solve most of the problems. Although there will be things that it is better to transfer from one to another using the cloud and the tools that Google itself provides us. And in other cases, you will not have the possibility of using this system, since many of the newer terminals, especially the top of the range, do not have this data storage formula. In any case, be that as it may don’t worry, we remind you of everything you should consider below.
The first thing you should think about when changing your mobile is taking your Google Play account with you. In this way, you will have available all the apps for which you have already paid, and you can also download directly all those that are compatible with your newest and current terminal. If you don’t know how to do this, learn from scratch how to set up the Google Play account. In case you did not have it before, or you do not remember the data, be sure to create it before changing your phone, because otherwise, you run the risk of turning the change into something very complex.
What matters when switching from one phone to another
Your files: everything you have stored on your phone that is important to you. If you have everything saved to the microSD, great. If not, consider creating an account in the cloud in which you synchronize everything and upload it. From the other phone, you will only have to access that account to have everything at hand. Sounds good right?
Your contacts: many will remain in the SIM, but it is better not to risk it because you could also lose or damage the SIM and be left with nothing. So sync them all to your Google account, and forget about complications. With this process, you will have them on all the Android terminals you want.
Your apps: as we said before, all those apps that we have downloaded, many of them in exchange for a payment, will stay with you even after switching from one phone to another. So if you want to avoid complicating your life, create a Google account or associate your terminal with the one you already have to have officially downloaded these apps. That way, everything will be linked to that account, and you can change your phone as many times as you want without losing any downloads, except of course for those that are not compatible with your new device that will be in the store window, but not you can install.
Today, with the many things we put on our phones, it can seem like real torture to change phones, but it is not so much. If you need more specific information, I recommend our other article on how to migrate to Android.
