The possibilities that the introduction of computers gave for the common use of people worldwide, produced that we had access to new technologies and new options to automate work or common daily life tasks without the need for an expert to operate complex equipment for us.
One of the greatest qualities to highlight in this regard is the possibility of interconnect any device allowing free interaction between computers, mobile devices or tablets to share any type of information, which are normally done through the Wi-Fi connection.
The best known method is applied to computers by mapping the operating system on a network that have in common both computers, with which they can share any type of files freely through global folders.
What is the importance of the version of Windows that I have to do a mapping?
When carrying out a mapping it is important to highlight that this will depend entirely on our Wifi network, issued by our device of the brand of our liking, these are increasingly being renewed with updated versions that make them incompatible with outdated versions of operating systems.
Such may be the case of Windows, known as one of the commonly used ones, which currently only provides support for versions of Windows 8 and Windows 10, versions with numerous customization options in which it is possible to carry out such mapping.
What do I need to know before doing a network mapping through Windows?
If we want to carry out the mapping on our computers we must bear in mind that there are certain conditions that must be met and we must check in our operating system because, otherwise, errors are likely to appear or it is not possible to complete the process effectively.
Identify the IP address of the router
The main thing is to know the IP address to which we are connected where the predefined addresses for routers are usually 192.168.1.1.
In case we are connected to a Network Attached Storage (NAS) We will have to determine the IP address of the device that we have connected to that network, but its default address is usually 192.168.1.77.
Verify that you are connected to the main network
Just as it is important to know the IP address of the network to which we are connected, we also need ensure that we are connected to the network where all devices are located with which we will carry out the mapping, otherwise it will not be possible to share information.
