The Google phone application, that app that comes pre-installed on a good part of Android phones, includes a function that helps avoid heavy commercial calls. With active verified calls the user You can see on your mobile what is the reason why the commercials call; as long as they detail the reason to Google.
The call and call identifiers spam they are a good way to filter unwanted communications, those that usually sound after hours to try to convince us to change companies. Google includes several anti-abuse tools in its Android phone app, for example. And recently it expanded to Spain a functionality that can mark a before and after: verified calls. This setting should be activated.
The reason they call is attached to the company name
If you use the Google phone application on your Android, and you keep the identification and spam, you will have verified that on the screen The name of the calling companies usually appears, even if you don’t have them added to your contact book. This is extremely useful to rule out any unwanted communication at a glance, especially if it appears suspicious of spam.
The idea behind verified calls is that this extra information make it clear to the user if you want the communication even before going off-hook. For example, a “Rate change” might appear on the screen as a reason; this information would allow the call to be discarded without even listening to the offer.
Verified calls add a huge advantage to Android owners. These are disabled by default, let’s see how to turn on the functionality:
- Open the phone app on your Android. Remember, the app must be Google’s. If your Android uses another application, this does not work for you (and surely you cannot download it from Google Play).
- Click on the three menu items, at the top right of the screen with the call log.
- Go to “Settings”.
- Enter the menu “Caller ID and spam“.
- Activate “Verified Calls”. If Google has not yet verified your phone, you will have to accept its use from your account options.
Verified calls are a great addition to identifying numbers spam, although it has a logical drawback: how should the company be the one to detail to Google the reasons for calling, it will still take us to see them reflected on the screen before picking up.
Since it is not mandatory for companies yet, it is most likely that verified calls still take time to show the reasons for business communication
Although currently it will be strange that they work, it does not hurt the activation of verified calls: it is likely that Google end by identifying businesses as suspicious if they haven’t specified a reason for calling first to users; which would cause the function to end up expanding. As is often the case, it is a matter of time.
