To root or not to root, that is the question. Many wonder what it means to root a device, what it can imply when it is done, what improvements it can get if it is dangerous or not and above all how it is done.
Many Android users root their device to get the maximum possible privileges on their phone. But, how to know if I am Root? We explain it to you in a simple way.
First of all we will make a brief summary to inform about the root word. When a user roots his Android device he gets all the possible privileges, with this the user will have the opportunity to modify things, create backup copies, install custom ROMs, change the CPU frequency and much more.
Being Root also means being superuser of the system, so it is like saying that, you are at the top of an operating system scheme, with that, we can install certain applications that need these privileges to work. There are many articles that we have published on the blog about how to root an Android device, so we will not go into that topic, but we will do it with a question that many users ask.
How to know if I am Root
Well, there are many ways to know if the phone you have bought in another country is rooted, or if the phone that you have left or bought is rooted, etc… We will explain the easiest way to check if you are a superuser or not.
First of all we will go to the Google Play application, once the application has been opened, we will look for the free version called Root Checker, download it and install it. When the application has finished the installation, we proceed to execute it. Within the application, we will find a tab that will give us the information in English, about the root of an Android device. In the other tab, which is the one that interests us, we will have different options. We are left with the first one, which says Verify Root Status and we click on Verify Root. The application will start, it will look for if we are Root users or not and it will notify us by telling us the device we have and the Android version installed.
As you can see, checking today if we are Root users is simple and in a few steps, you get the answer. After being Root there is a life ahead with applications that improve the performance of the terminal, the possibility of installing new custom ROMs, etc… But that is another issue, about which we always publish information about the different terminals.
