Check if PSN servers are working normally
We must remember that PlayStation Network hosts a large number of players per month. We are talking about millions of users in total and from all over the world.
So many people at the same time can be enough to bring down the platform’s servers. In that sense, the first option is to inform you of the status of the service in your country. To do this, all you have to do is this:
- Go to the official PlayStation page.
- Locate the button “Attendance”On the horizontal bar, and press it.
- In the drop-down menu click on “PSN Status”.
- In the bar that you will see choose your country.
- If the message “All services are working”Means the servers are fine.
Reduce the distance between your PS5 and your router
Although it seems a useless measure, it really is very effective. Of course, it will only work if your PlayStation 5 is connected via the wireless network.
When working with such a network, it is necessary that there is not too much distance between the console and the modem. Otherwise, connectivity can become very weak, which could later prevent connections and even affect performance.
So, check that the two devices are close together. At most, one meter away. If the problem was that, you will see that the connection is automatically reestablished in the console.
Open TCP ports (80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480) and UDP (3478, 3479,49152 ~ 65535)
Another option that could also help you to solve the error is to open the TCP and UDP ports from your computer. This will allow you to access the configuration of your modem or router to see if you can fix the problem from there. You must proceed in this way:
- Go to the modem settings panel and choose “Ports”.
- Look for the two protocols, IP and port numbers.
- In TCP it opens ports 80, 443, 3478, 3479 and 3480. And in UDP, ports 3478, 3470, 49152 and so on until reaching 65535.
- When you have already opened each port, reboot the PS5 and also the modem.
Manually configure an IP address
If nothing has worked so far, there is still one last option. This consists of manually configuring the IP of your console. The procedure is the next:
- Go to “Settings”, then “Network” and then “Set up internet connection”.
- Choose “Wifi” or “Ethernet”, depending on the connection you use with your console.
- Click on “Custom”And then“ Manual ”.
- Create an IP with the address “192.168.1.”. Plus three numbers after the last point. They must be some number from 50 (050) to 255. For example “192.168.1.250”.
Doing all that you will have already configured the new IP. If at any time you need to know what the original IP of the modem is, you can do it directly from your computer.
