The day of the launch of Windows 11 it’s finally here. Microsoft has begun to release the successor to Windows 11, which comes with a renewed design and new tools that seek to adapt to the times. Possibly this is why they are already thinking about download and install this new operating system. Here you will find everything you need to know to make the leap.
Although the official release of Windows 11 is today October 5, this does not mean that all users will be able to download and install it equally. Microsoft has explained that, to ensure the best possible experience, “will implement a gradual deployment. However, if you want to test it early, you can also upgrade from an ISO image.
Those of Microsoft explain that they have established an order of priority to download and install Windows 11. This is made up of three main aspects: hardware, reliability metrics, and device age. During all this time, Windows Update automatically took care of analyzing the characteristics of your computer to place it in the queue or deny it the update.
If your computer meets the requirements it will be updated sooner or later. In case of being “fully compliant”, you will receive the update much sooner than the computers that are in the process of reaching that status which will arrive when Microsoft considers that the experience is good enough. And, since the wait can be variable, in some cases it can be extended until mid-2022.
Windows 11 must be downloaded and installed on millions of computers
We know, waiting for an update today and waiting until the middle of next year can be painful. But think Microsoft should make sure Windows 11 works properly in millions of computers, with very different hardware. In this sense, those of Redmond continue to work with the hardware manufacturers so that both the system and the drivers work harmoniously.
The positive aspect of it all is that Windows Update will take care of the whole process. When your computer is ready, you will receive a notice inviting you to download and install Windows 11. If you are an anxious pco, you can also manually check if the update is already available by going to Setting > Windows update and Search for updates.
We also recognize that Microsoft has made us all dizzy with its minimum requirements. Here you can consult a list of compatible processors and here what is TPM 2.0. However, we recommend downloading and installing PC Health Check. It is an official Microsoft application that makes a computer diagnosis and tells you whether or not it is compatible with Windows 11.
There is also the possibility to install Windows 11 through the ISO image on computers whose requirements do not reach the recommended minimum. The bad news is that Microsoft will deny them security, driver and new feature updates. Consequently, it is an alternative that guarantees good headaches.
