Just a few days before the premiere of Jurassic World: Dominion, reviews of this film have begun to circulate on the internet, and it seems that the critics did not like this film. According to the Rotten Tomatoes rating, this is the worst installment in the seriessurpassing what was seen with Fallen Kingdomwho previously held this title.
Currently, Jurassic World: Dominion has a 38% rating based on 148 professional reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Generally, nostalgia has been mentioned as one of the positive and negative factors, but at the end of the day, the story fails to deliver a decent ending for the series.
This was what IndieWire commented:
“The only joy in this film comes from its precise mimicry. It has no identity of its own, which becomes depressingly apparent when characters old and new to the franchise finally come face to face.”
For its part, Rolling Stone has mentioned:
“It’s not so much a movie as it is an extinction-level event for the franchise, one in which the last remnants of goodwill and investment in this particular intellectual property are extinguished like so many unlucky stegosaurus.”
Similarly, Entertainment Weekly commented:
“Even with the original cast on board, there is surprisingly little chemistry or humor, and the film makes repeated stops to emphasize family values.”
However, we do occasionally see the odd positive review, such as the one provided by the BBC:
“Jurassic World Dominion regularly has classic scares, exhilarating expertly choreographed action set pieces that would earn a tip out of Spielberg’s own baseball cap, and the numerous characters have plenty to do.”
Jurassic World: Dominion it’s already in theaters, and it will be interesting to see where the fans stand. Will we have one more case where the general public loves a film and critics hate it? On related issues, the report reveals a price increase in Mexican theaters. Similarly, here you can see the first trailer for the Black Adam movie.
Editor’s note:
This reception was to be expected. After the failure that was Fallen Kingdom, it was difficult to think that this film would have any kind of critical success. However, at the end of the day, everything will depend on the box office, and knowing the history of the franchise, we will surely see hundreds of millions of dollars raised.
