Grand Theft Auto V is ready for its new generation version, and it is already available for all consoles and, although we have already been able to see the changes that the popular Rockstar video game has undergone in each of its relaunches since it came out on Xbox 360 back in 2013, it remained to be seen how this new version performs.
Something that seems quite curious to us is that the comparison of GTA V on Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5 shows a practically identical visual finish in both, but in terms of performance, the Xbox Series X | S version does not seem to be too well optimized and gives very irregular results.
As we can see in this comparison of The Bit Analyst, while PlayStation 5 almost perfectly maintains a rate of 60 fps in performance and performance modes with ray tracing, Xbox Series X suffers much more when there is action on the screen and the performance mode drops to the 50 line.
The ray traced performance mode performs even worse and drops to the 30 to 40 fps range. Check out. Both Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 feature three graphics modes including a native 4K fidelity mode with 30fps ray tracing and two performance modes, one at native 1440p at 60fps and one at dynamic 1440p and 60fps ray tracing.
In the case of Xbox Series S we only find two modes, the fidelity mode offers 1440p at 30 fps and the performance mode works at 1080p at 60 fps, although it is not capable of maintaining that rate either, just like its older sister. For whatever reason, GTA V seems to have some optimization issue on Xbox Series X|S, just like it did a few months ago with the GTA Trilogy remasters, although in that case it was a general problem.
