Horizon Worlds is the virtual world created by Meta in 2020 and promised that users could create their own avatars from various options provided by the platform with the intention of allowing users to express their individuality; In addition, they could also build their own scenarios, walk through streets or buildings and interact with other avatars. Its creators wanted it to be a safe and respectful environment for users who had access to it.

Initially, Meta expected to have 500,000 active users per month; nevertheless, The company explained that at the beginning of this year they had 300 thousand users and according to the new data, there is talk of a drop to 200 thousand users. On the other hand, the players who enter, complain about the errors it has and do not stay on the platform for more than a month, this causes the constant decrease in active users and the lack of creation of digital worlds. Not to mention that in February of this year, Meta shares fell 26 percent.
This draws attention in the industry because this is Meta’s foray into the metaverse and it’s about their flagship project.
