The increase in the cost of energy through the electricity supply has caused the demand for technology based on solar panels to skyrocket. Ultimately, it is about an investment with a clear focus on the long term. For this reason, it seeks to obtain savings month after month thanks to the availability of a sustainable energy source.
This, however, is not that simple, since the equipment requires special maintenance and care for it to be a completely efficient system. In this sense, it is recommended that the surface of the photovoltaic panels be in perfect condition, that is, without dirt that prevents proper operation. Following this cleaning process will achieve a more optimal performance in terms of clean energy consumption.
Now, what happens if it is not possible to easily access the solar panels that we have installed in our home? On many occasions, they must be attached to the ceiling, a space that is not usually easily accessible to the user. In these cases, it is most likely that the fact of perform cleaning tasks very frequently. What solution can be proposed in this regard? Once again, drones may hold the key to solving this problem.
The key to understanding the relationship between this type of cleaning and these flying devices lies in the incorporation of a novel system proposed by ART Robotics. It is, nothing more and nothing less, than a solution that has equipment equipped with a drone and an autonomous robot. This curious combination allows the cleaning of the surface with the aim of improving efficiency in terms of obtaining solar energy for its subsequent transformation.
Let’s see, therefore, how this amazing solution works, why we are faced with a product with great potential taking into account the rise of products of this class and, of course, to what extent we are faced with a differential product when it comes to covering this potential need.
A drone capable of carrying a cleaning robot for solar panels
The main differentiation of the drone in question is to carry a robot in its lower part. Thanks to the arrangement of a series of special anchors, it is possible bring this technology to the surface, being able to make the landing in a singular way. In addition, thanks to a series of solutions, you can maintain your balance and adapt to the existing degrees of inclination at the time of arrival.
After that, as can be read in the specialized portal New Atlas, it will wait with the propellers rotating during the entire maneuver. At that precise moment, the autonomous cleaning robot will cover the entire surface of the solar panels through a conventional system that is already highly standardized. You should only carry out monitoring to carry out the work in question. After that, it will be able to return to the base, at which point the drone will be able to start moving again.
As can be seen in the images, the project is in a very advanced stage of development. In fact, the technology is available to carry out the work in question. Now, will it be possible to market it in the short or medium term? At the moment, this system is in a funding phasesince it has been possible to verify that its technology is possible to implement thanks to the studies carried out.
A possible system with great potential ahead
This technology has been proven to work. However, the last stage, the definitive one, requires funds, something that will be possible if a minimum number of orders are placed. For this reason, crowdfunding platforms are being used to obtain the funds needed to carry out the project. Based on this, it is expected that in the future a system with these characteristics could cost around 120 euros.
It’s important to put attention on all industry related to microchips is being affected by a lack of supply, so it will be necessary to wait a while to see if a proposal of these characteristics has sufficient commercial success.
