He vishing is a social engineering technique that uses voice as a means to deceive people. Criminals pose as employees of a bank and call users asking for sensitive information, such as their credit card number, password or social security number. Using this information, scammers can access victims’ bank accounts and make fraudulent transfers.
A user named @El Don Jose Luis Varela expressed his concern on his TikTok account as he recounted how he was extorted with the technique vishinglost about 70,000 pesos, says that last Thursday he received a call allegedly from Banco Azteca workers who warned him about a payment he made on Facebook, and because of this, he trusted himself since he usually makes online payments that have to do with his networks, he mentions that in the call he heard tones and music very similar to those of the institution, so he had no suspicions until he went to the Bank and he realized that he needed money, he even adds that they transferred money from his credit card to the debit card and later withdrew it from his accounts.
