As part of its quarterly report for the current fiscal year, Take-Two has revealed that sales of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition have exceeded the expectations of the companies. Although no official data has been shared, there is talk of more than 10 million units sold.
According to Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, parent company of Rockstar, GTA: The Trilogy exceeded sales expectations this despite “some quality flaws”, this in reference to the problems that the collection had at its launch. This was what was said about it:
“Very occasionally we fall short, and I think the trilogy was an example of that. We have had very few quality lapses in this company, so every time we have fallen short from a quality standpoint it has been an isolated case and our goal is to keep it that way.”
Regarding the number of sales, although Take-Two did not give specific data, it was mentioned that the GTA series has exceeded 370 million units, an increase of 15 million compared to the previous quarter. Considering that GTA V five million in this period, this would mean that the other 10 million would correspond to GTA: The Trilogy. Hopefully soon we will have official information about it.
On related topics, Rockstar has confirmed that they are already working on GTA VI. Similarly, there is already a release date for GTA V on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
Editor’s note:
Once again, this data demonstrates that all fan complaints come from a vocal minority, or those who first bought their copy before complaining. At the end of the day, it is the wallets that really speak for the consumer.
