The NEAR Foundation, the entity behind the NEAR protocol, announced this month that it has been chosen by Grupo Nutresa, a leading company in processed foods in Colombia and one of the most important players in the sector in Latin America, to deploy its Web3.0 strategy.
According to Peersyst Technology, a company linked to the agreement, This leap to the blockchain by Grupo Nutresa will allow its clients to have more autonomy and control of their points, as well as greater security and peace of mind that the points will not be stolen or denied.
It should be noted that this business group is one of the largest multinationals in Latin America and manages several loyalty programs for its clients, collaborators and suppliers, for this reason in the press release by both entities, they mentioned that one of the reasons for which this alliance was also carried out is because the rise of Web3 and digital wallets are pushing forward-thinking brands to explore new opportunities in platforms that prioritize ease of use. In this case, NEAR is a development platform built on a single-layer, Proof-of-stake blockchain, designed for usability.
In this sense, Fabián Andrés Restrepo, Vice President of Sales and Digital Transformation of Grupo Nutresa and President of the Business of Pastas spoke about the vision of this new stage. “Our purpose is for people to feel recognized and valued by the brands, above all what interests us most is that this is an opportunity to help build their dreams, through a service that provides them redemption options that are significant and of value.”
