Tech firms compete for Web3.0
Competition among technology companies to venture into Web3 has intensified in recent months. In addition to Google, firms such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft have already begun looking to partner with firms in WEB3.0.
It was a matter of time before companies focused on technology began to venture into new ones and, as James Tromans, director of Web3 engineering at Google Cloud, points out:
“Just as open source developments were an integral part of the early days of the Internet, blockchain is driving innovation and value creation for consumers and businesses.”.
Google and Web3.0
In May of last year, the vice president of Google Cloud, Amit Zavery, reported that he was forming a Web-focused team3, this decision was prompted by its clients who were asking the firm to increase its support for Web3 and crypto-related technologies.
A few months later Google announced Blockchain Node Enginea node hosting service, which will allow Web3 companies to stream transactions, implement smart contracts, and read or write blockchain data directly to Google Cloud.
While Google Cloud’s Blockchain Node Engine currently only supports the Ethereum and Solana blockchains, the company has also announced partnerships with the Aptos blockchain and Binance-created BNB Chain, and speaking of exchanges, Google also added as partners to Coinbase, to allow payment of cloud services with cryptocurrencies.
Tezos, the blockchain chosen by companies
Thanks to the fact that it is a green blockchain and its low fees, Tezos has become the blockchain of choice for several companies that have decided to venture into WEB 3.0, such as Ubisoft, the consulting agency Deloitte, and the California government.
This association, as well as being chosen by major companies, has earned Tezos the trust of both institutional and independent developers.
“ANDIt’s a very strong signal to institutional and independent developers that we are a supported chain. We’re gonna be here for a while”, Mason Edwards, commercial director of the Tezos Foundation and a former Google employee, pointed out to fortune.
According to Edwards, Tezos has built a reputation on institutional and B2B onboarding, thanks to which more institutions will be able to add to this space.
