The labor market in Latin America is being transformed, and this represents great challenges, but it also opens up new opportunities so that more people can access better jobs. Since the last few years, the region has been facing an acute shortage of skills, which is why companies cannot find candidates with the profiles they need.
According to the Coursera study “Global Skills” Latin America suffered a slowdown, this has triggered that the leaders prioritize developing a workforce focused on business, technology, and data scienceareas in which a growth of 10 million new jobs is projected for 2025.
Till the date, Career Certificates have managed to train 21,500 people in Latin America who do not have easy access to digital training, through courses certified by Google in Data Analysis, Project Management, UX Design and Information Technology (IT).
This year, following the spirit of contributing to employability in Latin America, the delivery of 120 thousand scholarships for Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico to study the Google Career Certificates –with 95 thousand being exclusively for the country.

The event named “Digital Financial Inclusion Forum: New models and the balance between access and protection“, was organized by Tala Mobile, a global digital microcredit company, together with the Mexican Association of Specialized Financial Entities (AMFE) and was attended by Shivani Siroya, founder and CEO of Tala.
