Through a statement, Electronic Arts says goodbye to its FIFA saga and welcomes EA Sports FC, its new title.
This year, FIFA 23, which will be released next fall, will be the last in the saga, one of the most successful in the world of video games.
With the resurgence of eFootball and the birth of the UFL, the competition is only going to get interesting for EA Sports.
The end of an era… Through a statement, Electronic Arts confirms the end of its FIFA saga and presents EA Sports FCa new stage.
For months, they made themselves known the intentions of Electronic Arts to end its relationship with the International Federation of Football Association, the powerful FIFAthe highest rector of soccer worldwide.
This means that, since then, it was clear that the end of the FIFA saga was in danger and that, in addition, FIFA 22 would be the last title with that name.
2021 was, in short, a good year for the American company, since FIFA 22 managed to position itself even more in the gamer’s preference thanks to the errors presented by Konami’s eFootball, title that became the worst rated video game in Steam history.
It should be noted that, in the middle of the battle between Electronic Arts and Konami, a new soccer video game was placed on the horizon, called UFL, having Nike’s top star Cristiano Ronaldo as one of its ambassadors.
EA Sports says goodbye, now yes, to FIFA
Now, with the recent resurgence of eFootball and the upcoming release of UFL, the soccer video game market seems to be getting interesting, especially when EA Sports has officially said goodbye to its FIFA saga, as confirmed this day Andrew Wilson, CEO of the company:
“The introduction of EA Sports FC will not affect any current EA Sports global soccer games, and EA and FIFA are excited to deliver the best and most expansive EA Sports FIFA later this fall.”Wilson explained.
“For almost 30 years, we have been building the world’s largest football community, with hundreds of millions of players, thousands of athlete partners and hundreds of leagues, federations and teams. EA SPORTS FC will be the club for each of them and for football fans around the world.”he added.

It should be noted that FIFA 22 will not be the last title in the saga, but this year, as usual, FIFA 23 will arrive, with which the company’s relationship with FIFA will end.
However, let us remember that, for FIFA 23, EA has already lost more licenses, which go exclusively to eFootball, in addition to Liga MX completely, a fact that will undoubtedly affect the sales of both titles this year.
“We are proud to have LIGA BBVA MX as partners and the opportunity to bring our fans in Mexico and the United States closer to their favorite clubs through eFootball. As partners, we will work collaboratively with the league to bring the best to our respective audiences.” The Japanese company expressed through a statement shared on social networks.
For his part, Mikel Arriola, president of Liga MX, assured that “Mexican teams that have an exclusive contract with EA (Sports), must cancel them, they are exclusive to eFootball.
