dollar to peso exchange rate
The exchange rate was trading this Monday at 17.0477 pesos per dollar, a gain of 0.39% compared to Friday’s close registered by the Bank of Mexico.
“There is little liquidity in the foreign exchange market at the beginning of the week, since in the United States the capital market will close early, prior to the holiday for Independence Day on July 4,” local firm Banco Base said in a note from analysis.
The exchange rate is stable, in part, due to the “caution among market participants in anticipation of relevant economic indicators and events during the week. In the United States today the ISM manufacturing indicator for June is published, while the Durable goods orders and factory orders for May are published on Wednesday,” said the note to investors.
Investors’ eyes are also on Friday’s release of non-farm payroll figures in the United States.
For the rest of the week, the peso was expected to oscillate in a range of 16.98 to 17.28 units, according to CI Banco analysts.
